Coal & Allied

Contributing strongly to the Hunter Valley Community

Coal & Allied is committed to supporting a wide range of projects and partnerships to build stronger and more sustainable communities in the Hunter Valley.

Healthy Dads, Healthy KidsCommunity programs

Coal & Allied is proud to support the Hunter Medical Research Institute “Healthy Dads, Healthy Kids” project in our local communities.

This world first community based health program engages fathers to improve their family’s health, as well as their own.

Community Development Fund

Since their inception, our community development funds have contributed more than $9.6 million to the communities in which we operate.

We work with partners who share our values and goals to build capacity, not dependency, and deliver a benefit far greater than our contribution alone. A highlight is the success of the community grants officer program which, across four Hunter Valley shires, has brought in $6.5 million for the community in the last two years.

During 2009, we invested more than $2 million in New South Wales in more than 170 community projects, through our community development funds, partnerships, sponsorships and donations. In addition, we contribute significant in-kind support and community infrastructure.

Now in its 10th year, the Coal & Allied Community Development Fund invested more than $1.2 million in 2009 in 14 community program. It will commit an additional $1.3 million over the next three years to support projects which will further assist long term sustainability in the Hunter.
